is seeking a Communications Trainee
at EFI Bonn Office, Germany
The European Forest Institute (EFI) is an international organisation with 30 member countries and around 130 Associate and Affiliate member organisations. EFI undertakes forest research and policy support at pan-European and global level, with headquarters located in Joensuu, Finland. EFI has its other main offices in Bonn, Barcelona and Rome. EFI is seeking a trainee to support our communication activities related to the Resilience and the Governance Programmes which are both hosted at our office in Bonn.
Your tasks will include:
Work in collaboration with EFI colleagues on different communications activities
Assist in the planning of several events
Support the communications team with web content development and blog posts
Design and produce different printed and online materials
Contribute to our social media channels and community strategy
Traineeship conditions:
Duty station at EFI Bonn Office, Germany
Paid monthly traineeship allowance
Duration will be for a period of 6 months
Starting date: April 2024

Job requirements
University degree in the field of communications, web development, graphic design, or environmental sciences
Practical experience with event management, website content and social media management
Ideally with training in graphic design
Fluent in English
Ability to work with Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator), Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel), WordPress or similar CMS
Desirable basic video editing skills
